Simple Ways To Manifest Our Dreams

Since our launch back in September, the Darla Magazine team has been running trial and errors to find the perfect way deliver relevant and resourceful content to any big dreamer who knows about us. Our mission is to provide Darla readers with a unique perspective on what it is like to be a 20-something Boss, Artist, Writer, Stylist, Wanderer, and/or Lover as well as proof that the alignment of dreams and real life is totally possible. As we, ourselves, have dreams and ideas that seem too big to even discuss with anyone; we want to be able to showcase unique ways in which manifesting these big dreams can be accomplished.

There’s a million ways to get it — choose one.

One thing that almost all big dreamers have in common is the tendency to overthink; it’s almost like a self-inflicted kryptonite. We manage to over-think, over-plan, and over-analyze over anything! Our desire to understand things, in which we may never, and our habits to obsess over the future can slow us down from really making shit happen at the right time. We end up building obstacles for ourselves to overcome; making the manifestation of our dreams a lot more complicated than it needs to be.

It could all be so simple, but you’d rather make it hard.

If you feel like you can’t quite get it right when it comes to obtaining the things you want from life, we want to help you to the best of our abilities. We want to guide you to chase your dreams so hard that you don’t even realize you’re running… We want you to wake up one Sunday morning and think, “Wow! I’m doing everything with my life that I knew I would…” We want you to go out and get it and get back to getting more because you love it so much!

And so, we’ve compiled some simple, fun ways for you to consider while in pursuit of putting your dreams and real life into alignment. These ways are so naturally simple that you probably already do them (we’ll never, ever doubt your greatness), but just haven’t connected the significance with the action!

Stay inspired. All that you consume has an effect your life. Music*, books, films, television shows, tweets, lectures, and everything else influences you in different ways. Aim to consume things that have the potential to inspire you as much as possible. From the food you eat to the people you spend time with, it’s critical that you do not allow anything to tarnish your beautiful aura. If you want to keep your gold light glowing and your creative juices flowing, you have to stay aware of how your current thoughts and ideas correlate with what you are subjecting yourself to. It’s always good to be open-minded, but you’ve simply gotta be mindful of what you open your mind to!

(*Seriously, don’t listen to shitty music.)

Be an OG. While it’s important to stay inspired, it’s even more important to not lose who you really are in the process. If Beyonce’s work ethic and drive is what fuels your work ethic and drive, you do not need to change your goals, hair, lifestyle or name to match hers — you do not need to become any part of her. Beyonce is beyond-great and the world recognizes her as this because she is her. You don’t need to refer to yourself as Veyonce, ‘Young Beyonce’, Sasha Fiercest, ‘Blue Ivy’s Mom’, ‘The Beyonce of Rap’, or anything related in order to channel her energy. Keep everything about you and how you identify yourself 100% original and authentic… Be so you that people start questioning you about how you do it and what it feels like. Be the Beyonce of your own world.

Know the law of attraction. If you’re not familiar with the law of attraction; you should be! It is the theory that suggests our thoughts work as magnets to our life experiences. If we think positive thoughts, we will have positive experiences. If we think negative thoughts, we will have negative experiences. Although no one can hear the things we think about; the universe can sense it and it will send it back to us. There is great power in our thoughts and in our words, so choose them well!

(Like Jhene Aiko’s, “Eternal Sunshine”… Always remember to think of ‘all of the good things.’)

Don’t follow rules. Wait. You may be thinking, “WTF, isn’t this a list of rules for me to follow?!” But no, it’s not. This is simply a list of ways that can help you manifest your dreams. In Darlaland, we don’t believe in following rules — we believe in creating them. We are the authorities of our lives; we do what we want, wear what we want, work how we want, behave how we want, and think how we do. No one knows you better than you and when it’s all said and done, no one is going to be there except for you. Follow your heart and trust your intuition to create your own set of rules to live by… Put yourself in control.

Dream with organic intentions. Our biggest dreams and goals should be organic (we won’t say “realistic” because we’re not even sure what that means)… But us dreamers should chase after the things in which the attainment of is ultimately in our control AND what serves a bigger purpose than satisfying our personal needs. For example, “Marry Donald Glover,” is not a dream that we can control — this is possible, but it’d be tough (and kinda creepy) to strategically cause it to happen. A dream such as, “Become an established artist and inspire a positive change in the world,” is an organic dream. This is a goal that is in your power and that is also beneficial to the universe. When it comes to dreaming… What you put into it is what you get out of it.

And it’s that simple — 5 of our favorite ways that help us chase our dreams. Now let’s all focus on each of them for 5 days this upcoming week.

To stay inspired, become aware of the things that inspire you, whether it’s gazing at the clouds or listening to trap music, and incorporate those things into your daily routines. Get your brain working!

To be an OG, spend some quality time with yourself and identify the things that make you, you… Then find ways to enhance them!

To know the law of attraction, conduct some research of what the law of attraction actually is, how it works, and how it can benefit you personally. The meaning goes way deeper than the way we defined it earlier!

To not (don’t) follow rules, create some of your own. What do you want to do? How do you want to be? It’s entirely up to what you expect of yourself. This is your world and you should totally be running it!

To dream with organic intentions, apply the four ways above to help you advance with your current goals. Build something good and keep building, and building, and building!
